As the Board of Bethel Family Worship Centre, we believe that first and foremost, love must lead the way. Our love for one another proves to the world that we are indeed followers of Christ (John 13:35). Therefore, we desire to lead this church community in being the family of God and treating one another like brothers and sisters (Hebrews 13:1). As the leaders of this church community, we commit to genuinely loving one another as we know that if we do not have love, we have nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2). We will make allowances for each other’s faults and we will forgive when we are offended; we desire the Board to be in harmony with one another and for the peace of Christ to rule our hearts (Colossians 3:13-15).
We as the Board recognize that the mission of the church is to reach out to the lost and to raise up dedicated followers of God (Matthew 28:19-20). We commit to leading this church in both reaching out to the lost and in teaching believers to be strong in their faith. Our ultimate goal is to see a multitude in this Lakeland Region come to follow God.
Jesus’ method of leadership was to be a servant (Mark 10:45), so we as leaders of this church commit to using the gifts God has given us to faithfully serve others in this church and in our community (1 Peter 4:10). We will not indulge our sinful nature and live selfishly but will instead serve one another humbly in love (Galatians 5:13).
We as a the Board commit to being people of God honouring character. We endeavour to be examples to the congregation of what a godly life looks like. We vow to be people of good works, integrity, and dignity (Titus 2:7).
As we make decisions on behalf of the church, we also commit to trust the Lord regardless of the circumstances surrounding the church; we will give our worries to God because we know that He cares very deeply for us (1 Peter 5:7). We know that our Heavenly Father already knows what we need as a church (Matthew 6:32), and we know that He will be our provider (Philippians 4:19). We will not operate out of a spirit of fear but instead out of a spirit of love, power, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
As we steward the finances of the church, we as the Board commit to being an example to our congregation by being generous and to give as the Lord leads. We know that as we give, God gives back to us in an even greater measure (Luke 6:38). We will not approach any of the financial matters in the church with anything but faith, as we know that without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).
We signify that we as the Board of Bethel Family Worship Centre commit to seeking first the kingdom of God in all we do (Matthew 6:33). We will seek God’s thoughts and God’s ways for this church far above our earthly wisdom (Isaiah 55:9). We know that it is truly Christ that is the head over this church and that He must have preeminence and supremacy (Colossians 1:18). We hereby signify that we submit to God our budgets, our ideas, our strategies, and our desires, and we trust him to build a church that the powers of hell cannot conquer (Matthew 16:18).
